On my recent trip to New York in September, I spent a generous amount of time visiting absolutely every Sephora I could find in the city! Well, 8 Sephora’s to be exact. As a South African who has no access to high end makeup I was like a kid in a candy store. I picked up quite a few products that I’ll be sharing with you and reviewing over the next couple of weeks. I thought I’d start off with the Tartelette In Bloom Eyeshadow Palette as that’s a very every day wear kind of a palette and the shades are gorgeous! I often hear beauty Youtuber’s go on about an eyeshadow being soft and buttery and now I finally know what they mean!
First off, let’s take a second to admire how gorgeous the packaging is! It exudes the whole meaning of “In Bloom”. The packaging is also nice and weighty and comes with a full size mirror on the inside. With this palette you’ll get 12 beautifully pigmented shades which include 3 shimmer shades and 9 matte shades. When I said that the eyeshadows were soft and buttery I meant it. You literally have to apply the smallest amount of pressure when picking up the eyeshadow with your brush as a little goes a long way.
The colour payoff is incredible and they are so easy to blend. I particularly love the versatility of this palette in which you can easily transform your look from a day-makeup look to a night-makeup look with the added extra dark eyeshadows. Did I mention that the palette smells like cocoa? LIKE ACTUAL COCOA?!
Sorry I’m getting too excited now…
If that wasn’t enough, this palette is also paraben and cruelty free! Now if you’re like me and you get a bit too overwhelmed by all the majestic eyeshadows that make up this palette, they’ve also included a “Look Card” on the inside of your package which gives you 2 very easy step-by-step looks that you can create yourself. This palette retails for $45 which is roughly £38 or R630. Here’s a look at what I did with the palette over the weekend:
