Essence I Love Nude Collection

The nude makeup trend is swiftly changing from a trend into a classic. A look we can wear day or night and compliments just about any outfit or season. The nicest thing about the nude makeup trend is that it really gives meaning to “less is more” and you’ll never look like you overdid it. Of course we were all super excited when our favorite brand, Essence launched their I Love Nude collection. Here they are:

Essence Long Lasting Lipstick:

Essence have now added 5 stunning nude shades to their already popular lipstick collection. They are nicely pigmented with a creamy texture. One thing to remember is that when you’re using a nude lipstick is that it needs to be moisturizing as the nude shades can make your lips appear a bit dry. I got to try 2 out of the 5 shades: Come Naturally and Wearing Only a Smile. Come Naturally was my favorite out of the 2 as it’s a nice browny/plum color and suits with a lot of my nude eyeshadow looks. Wearing Only A Smile is far too light for my olive skin, it looked like I stepped out of an episode of Jersey Shore… So I’d recommend that you use this shade only if you have a lighter complexion.

Essence XXXL Nude Lipgloss:

These lipglosses compliment the nude lipstick range very well as the shades are very similar. They smell heavenly – just like sweets mmm 🙂 They come in 4 different nude shades and offer high shine and are non-sticky. The 2 that I swatched were Shy Beauty which was the lightest one of the range and Taste The Sweets (see I told you!) which had a more pink tone. I enjoyed using both of the lipglosses as they offered a nice pigmented shine.

Essence I Love Nude Baked Eyeshadows:

If you’ve been following my Instagram account you’d know that I’m completely smitten over baked eye shadows – now you can see why. Baked eye shadows are great for one simple reason, they can be used dry or wet. When used wet all you need to do is dip your eyeshadow applicator into a bit of water, then cover with your baked eyeshadow. It turns into a pasty type substance which glides on like a cream eyeshadow. By using it this way the eyeshadow appears more pigmented as opposed to using it dry. These nude eye shadows are available in 6 different shades. I swatched Vanilla Sugar, Crème Brulee, My Favourite Tauping and Coffee Bean.

Essence I Love Trends Nail Polish – The Nudes:

Essence have now welcomed The Nudes into their I Love Trends nail polish family. The Nudes are available in 8 winter-loving shades. I’m very new to nude nail polish trend and I can’t understand why I delayed for so long. I swatched 2 of the 8 nude shades: I Nude It and Pure Soul. I threw in one of The Pastels shade’s as well which is called So Lucky because I just needed to show you how incredibly gorgeous this matt minty polish is. It has a tinge of shimmer and gives you that frosted look.

But back to The Nudes – Pure Soul has a tiny bit of shimmer with a hint of pink. I’d generally use a color like this if I were doing my own French manicure, it’s the perfect shade for a top coat. I Nude It is my new bestie, I can see myself doing a lot of nail art looks with this polish – as you can see I couldn’t resist doing a glitter ombre already. When I bought it I thought it would be a bit too light but it’s actually the perfect beige/fleshy color – I might even try the darker nudes seeing as we are heading into winter.
