Review: Current Favorite Mascara’s

I’ve been using the Essence LASH Mania Reloaded Mascara for quite a while now and I’m always a bit reluctant to try out other mascara’s as this one genuinely works for me everytime. I’ve been approached many times by ladies asking whether my eyelashes were fake, to which I always respond with: It’s just a really good mascara! I’ve also converted a lot of my friends to start using this mascara and they’ve been nothing but pleased with the results.

When I’m shopping for a mascara the one thing I always look out for is the wand! The wand is a very good indication of what type of effect it will have on eyelashes. For example, my eyelashes are quite long, therefore I need a firm comb-type wand that will lift and comb through every lash. There are so many mascara products on the market these days claiming that it will do all sorts miraculous things to your eyelashes, remember it might work for one person but not for you so it’s very important that you pick your mascara by the wand it offers and not necessarily the brand.

Since I’ve only had good experiences with Essence mascara’s, not only because they are affordable but because they actually work, I decided to give another one of their mascara’s a try. Goodness knows what would happen to me should my favorite Essence mascara be discontinued for some odd unexplainable reason and I didn’t have a backup!

Essence have launched a pretty looking new mascara called the Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara and I’ve put it up against my favorite Essence mascara to see how it compares.

The first thing that caught my eye with this mascara is the cute packaging. All dressed in black with a mint evening dress. The wand has a firm rubber grip which makes it easy to manoeuvre. Because this wand is a fibre brush I thought that it wouldn’t work for me but low and behold it proved me otherwise. The fibre brush is long and narrow and provides your lashes with length and volume – just the kind of princess lashes you were hoping for! This too gave me the same false lash effect as my trusty Essence Lash Mania Mascara. It didn’t clump up at all and didn’t smudge like most fibre brushes do. Apply 2 coats and you’re ready to rule your kingdom 🙂

Essence LASH Mania Reloaded Mascara

Another brilliant false lash mascara alternative – I really suck at applying false lashes so I’ve had to resort to going all natural and finding just the right mascara that will compliment the lashes I do have. I started using the Essence Lash Mania about 2 years ago and I haven’t looked back since. It has a flexible elastomer brush which basically means that the brush has elastic/rubber-like properties. This ensures that the product flows off smoothly and the bristles comb through your lashes effortlessly giving you separated and defined lashes. This mascara also comes in waterproof so it’s a true winner.

Judging by the swatches I did of the two, it’s safe to say that they equally worked brilliantly on my lashes. Both giving me that same false lash look and I liked how they both separated and lifted my lashes. If you’re looking for a mascara that will give you maximum volume and length, I definitely recommend any of the two.

I do prefer the Mania loaded one just a bit more, but they both look great. For the price?? Wow. Will definitely give it a try!
