Take A Look Inside The LookFantastic Advent Calendar 2020

Its the most wonderful time of the year!

And that can only mean 2 things: Christmas and Advent Calendars! If you hate spoilers then look away now, I was naughty and decided to open my LookFantastic Advent Calendar early this year.

LookFantasic have once again released a show-stopping Advent Calendar which truly is the gift that keeps on giving. This year they’ve jam-packed the advent calendar with makeup and skincare products worth over £460. It comes as a big surprise that these calendars go for only £85 if you’re fast enough to get on the pre-order list. I pre-ordered my advent calendar in early September and it arrived the end of October. It’s been so hard to keep my hands off it till now!

Each gift is carefully wrapped in hot pink wrapping and tucked away in its special slot, waiting for you to open and enjoy on the day. Unless you’re like me and just open them all in one go! Below is everything you’ll find in the advent calendar, some products I already love and some products new. I can’t wait to try them all. Without further ado…

Day 1: Natasha Denona Blush Glow Duo

This seems to be a mini size blush set so it makes for a great handbag item. I’ve actually not heard about this brand before as its fairly new founded in 2016 but they’ve got quite a few products on the market already. I’m keen to see how this blush performs as there are mixed reviews on the internet. A full sized blush due will set you back £33 so my expectations are high.

Day 2: Luxie Tapered Highlighter Brush

I was VERY pleased to see this pop up in my advent calendar as I got another Luxie brush in my September LookFantastic Beauty Box. I suppose over time you could just collect the entire set. These brushes feel A M A Z I N G in terms of quality from the wooden handle all the way to the bristles. UPDATE: This brush works like a dream for highlighter application and one of my most used brushes in my set. Highly recommend adding this to your shopping list!

Day 3: Molton Brown Bath & Shower Gel

This is the sweetest gift of them all. Molton Brown frequents advent calendars so it comes as no surprise a mini bottle was added. The sweet and citrusy notes of this shower gel is mind blowing

Day 4: Rodial Dragons Blood Cleansing Water

Another new product for me. A micellar water like none other as its combined with Hyaluronic acid which locks in hydration and Vitamin B3 which helps brighten skin. A full sized product comes in at £33 which is a bit expensive for a micellar water so I’m hoping its not great otherwise I’ll have to trade in my £5 Garnier Micellar Water great on my skin! UPDATE: I’ve been using this for a few weeks now and to be honest I haven’t seen much difference in my skin brightening. It has however been kind to my skin with no adverse reaction and doesn’t burn your eyes either.

Day 5: 3INA (MINA) The Cream Eyeshadow

If you’ve been following my blog for a while now you’d know that I’m no stranger to 3INA makeup, in fact I wrote about an entire range HERE. So again I was very happy to see this little gem in my advent calendar. I’ve not tried the cream eyeshadows yet but I’m confident its going to be a favourite

Day 6: Philip Kingsly Deep Conditioning Treatment

Our first hair product! I’ll be honest I had no idea what this was when I first looked at it. So this is a hair treatment which is said to work on all types of hair. If its any good, I’ll report back. The reviews online are looking promising.

Day 7: REN Ready Steady Glow Tonic

I think I may have heard of this product before, maybe not? This is a daily tonic which is said to gently exfoliate your skin and brighten your complexion. I really like the sound of this product and the reviews look good too so if it works well I’ll be adding this as an additional step to my skincare routine. UPDATE: I used this for a month and it definitely has a light exfoliating effect as you feel a slight tingle on your skin. The only thing I didn’t enjoy about this product was how after applying, your face would feel quite sticky so because of that I won’t be buying this again.

Day 8: Eve Lom Cleanser

At first I thought this was a lip balm but upon closer inspection I figured out that it was actually a facial cleanser. In cold conditions the product will set which is why it looks really hard. It smells really herbally and is packed with Cloves Oil which is an antiseptic, Eucalyptus Oil which drains away toxins, Hops Oil which tones the skin, and Egyptian Chamomile and Cocoa Butter to soften and sooth. I love products like this so fingers crossed it works well

Day 9: Diego Dalla Palma Black Eyeliner

Another make up product I know and love and they’ve only gone and thrown in a true necessity – black eyeliner. Read about some other Diego Dalla Palma stuff I got HERE.

Day 10: Rituals The Ritual of Sakura Body Scrub

Rituals is a very popular brand in the beauty industry, a brand that I’m yet to try for the first time so I was buzzing when I saw this sugar scrub behind door number 10. Cant wait to try it!

Day 11: Tan-Luxe Self Tan Serum

A gradual self tanning serum for your face AND it contains hyaluronic acid = winner! Or not? Some reviews say its the most over hyped and under performing product from Tax Luxe despite them loving every other product from Tax Luxe. My face literally gets no colour as I plaster myself with SPF every day so I’m interested to see whether this will bring a bit of colour to my cheeks

Day 12: Illamasqua Loaded Lip Polish

Yip, you guessed it – another brand that’s completely new to me. Illamasqua is a British beauty brand inspired by the 1920’s Berlin theatre industry. They have quite an extensive range on Lookfantastic’s website and a few things have caught my eye i.e. the highlighters!

Day 13: Glov Eye Mask

A silky satin sleeping eye mask from Glov who specialises in eco-friendly cleaning alternatives to wipes and cotton pads

Day 14: Elemis Pro Collagen Oxygenating Night Cream

I love Elemis! I got the day cream version of this in a Lookfantastic beauty box and fell in love instantly. It honestly leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth! Its an eye watering £87 but you truly get what you pay for – luxury skincare that is. Why does my taste always gotta be so damn expensive *cries in poor*

Day 15: ECooking Vitamin C Serum

Very happy to see a Vitamin C Serum in the advent calendar as this has been one of my newest additions to my skincare routine. I’m using a few different ones at the moment all varying in prices. Vitamin C has been proven to have a massive effect on your skin tone which is probably one of the things I struggle with the most so if all goes well, I’ll post about it here. UPDATE: When I compare the E Cooking vitamin C serum to the other 2 I’m currently using I wouldn’t say that there’s been a massive improvement in my skin tone. However I didn’t like the smell of this one which is why is why it won’t be added to my shopping list, despite it being fragrance free.

Day 16: ThisWorks Deep Sleep Body Cocoon

This ones going right next to my bed – as someone who struggles to go to sleep early I’ve started doing a few rituals like lavender baths and a few drops of lavender oil on my pillow before I go to sleep and now this will be added to the list. This lotion smells like a dream! UPDATE: I don’t think its possible for me to love a hand and body cream more, every time I put it on before bed it smells like I’ve just stepped into a luxury spa! This is so worth it!

Day 17: Omorovicza Silver Skin Saviour

LookFantastic have thrown in another face mask – this time one for problematic skin and from Hungarian brand: Omorovicza. I’m lucky I don’t really suffer with problematic skin so I’ll be keeping this one aside for when I have one of those pesky breakouts.

Day 18: Sleek Makeup Mattifying Primer

By now you’re probably judging me for not knowing all of these brands… so here’s one that I do know! Day 18 has given us a much needed primer from Sleek makeup. I’ve not used a primer from them before as I avoid any silicone textured primers (it slides right off my face). I’ll give this one a try and hopefully its got a better formula.

Day 19: Anastasia Beverly Hills Lash Brag Mascara

Oh we sure do love a bit of Anastasia Beverly Hills, don’t we? Anything ABH is top tier IMO and no one can change my mind. This mascara WILL be awesome.

Day 20: Mio Clay Away Body Cleanser

This product is a must have when doing an at-home self-care TLC pamper day. It gives you all the benefits of a purifying mud bath without the, well… mud and will leave you feeling PURIFIED!

Day 21: Filorga Time-Filler Absolute Wrinkle Correction Cream

Okay, so not heard of the brand Filorga before but after doing a bit of research their products look very promising. They claim that their products halve the depth of wrinkles in 2 months. Its quite a bold statement to make but they also say to only use a small amount of product as its highly concentrated.

Day 22: Caudalie Purifying Gel Cleanser

A facial cleanser from French brand Caudalie. I’ve never used anything from them before but this cleanser is said to purify, tackle blemishes, minimise pores and reduce excess sebum. I’ll be keeping this for a travel sized face wash.

Day 23: Avant Harmonious Rose Quartz Revitalising & Firming Mask

I was quite shocked to find out this face mask from Avant retails for £79 so it must be really good! It seems to have the same effects as most of the other masks and cleansers I’ve mentioned on this post so we’ll see how it performs.

Day 24: Lord & Berry Perfect Brow Eye Brow Pencil

An eyebrow pencil that comes in 3 different shades. It has a spoolie brush at the opposite end to blend. I’m fully converted over to pomade so I won’t be using this.

Day 25: ESPA 24-Hour Balancing Moisturiser

Do you know that instant whiff of pure relaxation you get when you walk into a spa with all the candles and essential oils burning? Thats the exact same experience I get when opening up any ESPA product. ESPA is better known for their luxury spa’s but their skincare line literally allows you to take a bit of that luxury with you back home. ESPA is another product I received previously in a LookFantastic beauty box, I previously got the micellar cleanser and its honestly one of my favourite skincare brands.

To end off, I think the advent calendar was great value for money. I’m not 100% certain if it was indeed worth over £460, I’m yet to do an audit still, however its definitely worth the £85 I paid. I compared the LookFantastic Advent Calendar to other similar ones from competitors and although all of them offer really great products, LookFantastic comes out slightly tops. I personally would’ve liked an eyeshadow in there.

So that’s it for this year’s LookFantastic calendar. If you didn’t manage to get one this year, make sure you pre-order one around September next year to make sure you don’t miss out.

And remember, all products mentioned can be purchased here: www.lookfantastic.com
