Essence Shape Your Face Contouring Palette

Let’s all take a moment to appreciate the fact that Essence have finally came out with their own contouring palette! The Essence Shape Your Face Contouring Palette is now available in stores and if you’re wondering how it works before buying, then read on…

If you’re new to contouring then the Essence Shape Your Face Contouring Palette is a really good palette to start with as the colours are very subtle and easy to work with. The shades look darker in the palette but they are still fairly light. Contouring and highlighting really became such a huge beauty trend so I was really glad when I found out that Essence have released a palette of their own. Also – if you aren’t 100% sure on contouring, there’s a cute little guide on the back of the palette to show you where to apply the different shades.

Overall this palette is okay to use as a beginner on lighter skin tones but I would recommend it for absolutely everyone. For only R76.95 it’s a definite steal! Included in this palette is a matt bronzer shade, a highlighter and a peachy blush.

The bronzer worked well on my skin however I found myself having to apply a few strokes to really get that defined contour. When I did it blended really nice with the tone of my skin.

The highlighter for me was quite a disappointment and I don’t think I’d miss it if it weren’t there. It’s a powdery matt shade and I kind of was hoping for a shimmer highlighter.

As for the blush, it actually looks more orange than it really is on the skin but it’s a lovely peachy, gold tinted blush. I’ve never had or used a blush in this shade before and I liked the way it looked on my skin. The bronzer together with the blush looks so nice together!

If you’re interested in giving this contouring palette a try, it’s available at most Clicks and Dischem Pharmacies stores.

Such a nice post. I really wanted to get that palette, but after looking at the highlight I felt the same and the orange blush scared me away. Maybe one day I’ll be brave enough and try it. Lots of love

Yeah I’m not going to lie that highlighter was such a let down but the other colors are great otherwise 🙂 I suppose I just really liked how it warmed up my face (especially with the dull, winter skin!)

I bought this palette about 2 weeks ago. For my skin tone, it works wonderfully. Really am impressed with it. Ps, first time contouring so this worked out quite well for me.

      Hi Bianca

I used the Essence powder brush to contour with and the Essence blush brush to highlight and blush with. Hope that helps xx
