Last week I was one of the very fortunate beauty bloggers to be invited to the Essence Mad Hatter Tea Party event where they had the opportunity to showcase all their new products for April. When you get invited to an Essence event, you literally drop everything just to be there because you know its going to be the event of the year plus they host the best beauty events that would have any makeup lover in their element!
The event was held in the picturesque gardens at the Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel in Cape Town and we were so fortunate to have a picture-perfect, sunny day! It honestly felt like the most accurate setting for Alice In Wonderland! A mad hatter tea party was the perfect platform for the launch of all the new (and permanent) Essence products and I can’t wait to start trying out all the new products!
Besides that, what is a tea party without sweet treats?! The Mount Nelson Hotel undoubtedly offers the best high tea’s in Cape Town (we’ll touch on this in another blog post) and the eats that were provided were on a different level of delicious! Mini cakes, peppermint tart cakes, macaroons… everything a sweet tooth foodie like myself dreams about!
Each attendee received a very special goodie box containing an item from every new product launched so that we could rush home and start trying out our new makeup. There were also the cutest dressing tables set out around our table that had some of the upcoming limited edition ranges that we might also be seeing throughout the year.
If that wasn’t enough, we had mini beauty stations waiting to touch up our makeup and give us a quick mani! There was a photobooth station as well which everyone seemed to enjoy and have fun with. Basically this event was a beauty addict’s heaven! So much effort was put into this event and I take my hat off to the ladies over at Cosmetix for consistently paying so much attention to detail – I had such a fun day!

I spend almost all my salary at Dischem (LOL) so that’s definitely a good place for a makeup newbie to shop for makeup products!
